I am a German painter currently based in London, UK.

 

My paintings explore moments in which the boundaries between ourselves, our surroundings, and other forms of life begin to dissolve. I am interested in intense emotional, psychological, and sensory experiences that temporarily loosen our sense of individuality and allow us to feel part of something larger than ourselves.

My paintings take the form of dream-like environments in which human and non-human presences emerge from and dissolve back into the same terrain. Maintaining a balance between abstraction and figuration is essential, reflecting my interest in porous relationships between self, environment, and other forms of life. By questioning ideas of human exceptionalism, the work imagines forms of belonging that recognise humans not as separate from nature, but as participants within it.
